AILEACH FC SENIOR TEAMS
Aileach currently have three senior teams and have had for the last number of years. Since the formation of the club in 1993, Aileach have steadily grown. Starting in 1993 & 1994 with just one senior team. The reserve team was established in 1995. In the 1995/96, Aileach won the first division title for the first time ensuring promotion to the Premier Division. Unfortunately their stay was short and the were relegated the following season. In the 1998/99 campaign, they won the first division again and were duly promoted. They remained in the Premier Division until relegation in the 2002/03 season. The following season they won the first division without losing a game and have been a fixture in the Premier Division since. The reserve team was always in the hunt for titles in this time with a reserve division two title in 1999/00. Aileach was continuing to blood the best young players in the reserve side and had a fantastic season in the 2004/05 season with a treble of a Reserve Division Two title, a Reserve Shield win and winning the Club of The Year Award. They followed that up the following season by winning the Reserve Premier Division Title. At this point, the Aileach committee decided to purchase their own grounds and develop their own facilities.
"Lakeside" opened on the 1st August 2010 and not before long the move began to bear fruit. In the 2011/12 season, Aileach won the Inishowen Premier Division for the first time. The reserve team followed suit by winning the Reserve Shield for a second time. The reserves had more success in the 2012/13 season with a Reserve Premier League Title and another Reserve Shield. The 2013/14 season saw the reserve team win the Top Four Cup for the first time. Aileach narrowly lost out in a league play off in the 2014/15 season. The 2014/15 season, was also the first year of Aileach's third senior team "Aileach Youths". The first team got their hands on the Credit Union Cup in 2015/16 ending a cup hoodoo which saw Aileach losing 8 previous cup finals. The reserve team got their hands on the Reserve Shield for the 4th time and won it again the following year, meaning Aileach had won the reserve shield for 4 of the 5 previous years. With Aileach celebrating their 25th anniversary in 2018, the 2017/18 season held special significance. The senior team duly obliged with a cup treble, winning the League Cup, the Credit Union Cup and the Ulster Junior Cup. The 2019/20 season saw Aileach collect their second Premier Division title and they also won the Credit Union Cup for the third time in 5 years. Aileach Youths also won a trophy for the first time, winning the Division Two Shield.
